We operate a dive charter vessel on the beautiful Gold Coast ex Runaway Bay Marina. Our specialty is certified diving at our local reefs and wrecks on 4 days per week. We are always looking for friendly and capable divers for the role of in-water dive guide. For this purpose, we have 3 roles available.
1. Paid Divemaster
2. Volunteer Dive Guides
3. Divemaster Internship
Paid Divemasters
To be considered for this role, you must be available on a set roster including midweek on a permanent basis (no excuses). The only reason why we hire and pay a dive guide is for the sake of consistency in our operation and for the difficulty in finding suitable candidates that can cover our midweek trips. If you can’t commit to this ongoing engagement, then you may still qualify for our volunteer roles. Further requirements for a paid position are.
– Be a friendly and healthy person with a professional attitude,
– Be great with customers,
– Be a PADI Divemaster in active status or higher,
– Possess a Drivers License,
– Possess current Oxygen Provider Certificate,
– Possess current First Aid and CPR Certificate,
– Be available preferably on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Volunteer Dive Guides
If you are passionate about diving and enjoy taking the lead, then our volunteer dive guide roles are made for you. Enjoy diving for free plus other benefits such as free air fills, free gear hire and dive gear at whole sale rates. In return you will lead a small group of divers, usually no more than 5 whilst on our tours and help us with preparation and clean-up afterwards. To be suitable for this role, you should be available on weekends at least once per month or more. You also should be proactive and keep asking us for opportunities. We can’t chase you. You need to chase us! Further requirements are;
– Be an experienced diver,
– Be a confident diver even in challenging conditions,
– Be a good underwater navigator
– Be physically capable
– Be good with customers
– Be self motivated
To be clear, you are not expected to be a Divemaster or Dive Supervisor. You are purely a piece of mind for divers in order to help them with local orientation. Email us if you are interested.
PADI Divemaster 12 Week Internship
If you are keen to become a PADI Divemaster with us then you may want to consider our internship program. This is a very cost-effective way of becoming a leader in diving and we will promise you that the experience you gain during this time will turn you into a seasoned professional.
The internship is free of charge however some prerequisites such as First Aid certificate and dive medial are excluded. We are also requesting a $500 security deposit to enrol which we will return to you upon completion of the course. This deposit covers your student materials.
The program will run over 12 consecutive weekends including pool sessions. If you can’t commit to this schedule, please talk to us. Any bad weather weekends will be utilised for class room or pool training or simply a weekend off. Over the length of the internship, you will log between 60 and 90 offshore ocean dives. Please note that our internships are limited to one candidate at the time and we only accept candidates upon application and interviewing, having regard to how committed you are and how we see you fit in within our team and the diving industry.
Prerequisites
– Be a PADI Rescue Diver and at least 18 years old
– Have logged at least 40 dives
– Have a current first aid and CPR certificate
– Be available 12 weekends in a row
– Be a friendly person with customer service skills
– Be physically capable
Working with us
We are a PADI Dive Centre that specialises in certified diving on the Gold Coast. We dive offshore (outside the Broadwater) and also run frequent social day trips and weekends away. We are conveniently located at Runaway Bay Marina. Our journey started more than 5 years ago as a pure online dive shop and has evolved ever since. We are combining three exciting brands under one roof; Gold Coast Dive Adventures, Sea the Gold Coast and The Scuba Coach.
Our vessel
Our boat is a 6m Airib and beautifully set up for diving. We limit maximum numbers in order to ensure the best possible customer experience. It is also fast and easy to handle and we always go the extra mile when it comes to legal compliance, maintenance and best practice.
